Cookies in a Jar
OK. So it’s not exactly cookies in a jar, by pretty close to it!! Since I have been baking cookies this week, I have been thinking outside the box (jar) for different things to put in them. Today I had a bit of a lightbulb moment and have found a way to use up all the little leftover scraps of baking type goods that are perfect for adding to cookies.
I grabbed a mason jar and went through my pantry for all those little odds and ends I knew I had lurking at the bottom of many a ziplock bag. They may not look like much on their own (and may end up getting chucked out), however if you put them all together you end up with a masterful mix which with to make your next batch of cookies slightly more…exotic!
I found things like a cup of oats which just didn’t fit in the storage container, crushed and broken bits of chocolate honeycomb, a few bits of puffed brown rice, some choc beanies, marshmallows and a few freckles. One jarful is plenty to add to my next batch of cookies and the best part is there will be something different in every one!
