Today marks the final week of our Spring Clean August Challenge!! Yippee! We Have Made It!
If you are new to the challenge or maybe missed a week, you can click back and review all our previous posts here:
Now we have cleared out our clutter, organised our wardrobes and cleaned our homes, there is only one final item that needs a bit of Spring Cleaning action. Can you guess what it might be?
Yes. It’s YOU!
With the demands of work and family life, many of us tend to let our own lives pass by without doing all manner of projects we really want too. There is no quick fix to do all this stuff, it’s just a manner of scheduling it in, organising yourself and being accountable. I like to stick up a copy of my Personal Projects and Goals above my desk. This means I am always looking at it and all my goals are fresh in my mind. This works well for the monthly task lists too. You can see what has been done and what needs doing (and we all know there is nothing better than crossing things off a list!).
I have made two new FREE Printables to help you out here – they are a simple layout which guides you through the steps you need to take to get yourself on track. Print it out and take some time to really think about the sorts of things you want to get done in the next 12months. You can include all sorts of things on your list…mine includes getting Miss Z toilet trained (sooner rather than later!!), starting my new website, saving more cash and learning to surf!!
Right! Let’s Get Started….
List out all the goals you want to achieve in the next 12 months on your Personal Projects Printable. Break these down into Personal, Family, Business and Financial. Ensure they are SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Bound) i.e I want to learn to surf by the end of Feb 2015;
Break each goal down into small achievable steps on your Task List Printable. You can use as many of these as you need! E.G. Research local surf schools by 30/09/15;
Grab your calendar or diary and schedule in all your tasks for that month – For instance on Sept 30th you should add a task that says Surf School research to be done by today!;
Set an auto reminder for the same date each month to review. Sit down and go through your goals sheet and tasks list, cross off what’s been done and schedule in your items for the next month.
If you can work through your few goals each month, and keep an eye on how things are going, you will be amazed at how much you can get done in a short space of time. You can achieve your goals, your dreams and anything else your little heart desires if you haves a little faith in yourself and get a little organised. Think about what you CAN do, not what you think is holding you back!!
