Fabulous Foodie Finds…
There are two awesome things about working in the city again. The Shopping and The Food. Sadly I’ve not purchased any shoes yet however I thought you may appreciate a run down of some Fabulous Foodie Finds. Some I sought out myself, others came well recommended. If you are in Sydney soon, it will be well worth your while checking out some of these…
Loaf & Devotion
York Street, Sydney
A tiny, warm and comforting cafe selling coffee and seriously yummy Pulled Pork Rolls. I had the “Texas” which was a VERY large (and Im glad since it cost me $9.50) super soft Brioche Bun filled with scrummy Pulled Pork and home made ‘Slaw. One of those meals made very difficult to eat in a ladylike manner…
York Street, Sydney
Baker Bros is a (licensed!) small and super friendly cafe’ with a really groovy vibe. This adorably cute mini Egg Benedict caught my eye and I simply NEEDED one. The size of the palm of my hand it was just the right size for a breakfast snack on the run to the office. The brioche was fresh, the egg cooked to perfection, the Hollandaise to die for and the only thing that could be improved was if it was warm (If only I could just get there a little earlier…).
(BTW – If anyone spotted this Facebook Post last week, you would see another reason I love Baker Bros!)
Grace Hotel, Street Level, York Street, Sydney
Even now I don’t quite “get” this place. I’m not sure if its support to be quirky or what….Its cute, casual & comfortable with a good selection of Italian style food. Upon entering you get a little credit card which gets “swiped” at each station you visit and there are plenty to choose from all making meals fresh for you. Pizzas, Pasta, Salad etc. Even drinks at the bar get put on your account. You choose your own seat and then when you leave, you hand over the card and pay the bill. Monday lunchtime when I was there – things were pretty civilised, however I must guess on Friday or Saturday nights, the place must be hell. Too many lines to stand in, too many people, no guaranteed table space. My personal highlight was the mini pots of herbs on each table, ripe for the picking and sprinkling over your BBQ Chicken Pizza (which was great BTW…and I can say that because I ate an entire one. On my own. Which was at least 13″ across….). Nom nom.
