I’m starting to think of food I can serve at Miss E’s 4th (she’s not turning 4 really – I won’t let it happen!!) In the case that it does happen, today’s recipe is something I’m thinking of baking for it.
Fairy Flower Biscuits
You’ll need…

75g unsalted/salt reduced butter, softened
1 lemon
25g light brown sugar
3 tablespoons of honey
1 egg
175g plain flour
3 tablespoons of caster sugar
Food colouring of your choice
You’ll also want to have on hand: baking trays and baking paper, flower cookie cutters and cling wrap.

This is sous chef Miss E’s idea of decorating with sugar. I’m pretty sure there is still JUST more dough than sugar!

You can see that I also made cut-out biscuits using a large cutter and a smaller one that fit inside. The dough is quite delicate so it is quite fiddly getting the cut outs to work. I think the whole little flowers cuter, and much less work, so it’s up to you! These would also be great little Christmas tree or Christmas star cookies!

These look like a fun school holiday idea with Miss 5… I’ll have to give them a try
